Short Time Lapse
Short time lapse in the Mournes.....I find it fascinating watching the play of light and clouds on the landscape
St Mary's Olde Church.
This church is reputed to have been one of the first Christian churches in Northern Ireland. It was at one time referred to as the Ancient Church of Ballagh-a-Neir. This is one of the very few medieval relics of Mourne and all that remains today are the foundations of a nave and a small chancel.
Sunrise at Narrow Water
Beautiful early winter morning at Narrow Water Castle
Bloody Bridge Sunrise
This spot on the Co-Down coast was much favoured by smugglers in the late 18th century .
Sunset from the rocky shore at St Johns Point.
My favourite cottage in the Mournes
Sadly these stepping stones are no longer here. They have been washed away by the River.
Bloody Bridge Sunrise.
The area surrounding the Bloody Bridge is eerily beautiful and extremely popular with walkers and backpackers as a gateway into the mournes
Royal Co Down
The venue for the 2015 Irish Open.I am not a golfer, but if there is a better view in world golf,I would like to know where it is :-) :-)
Dawn At The Keep
Narrow Water Keep lies on the Co. Down bank of the Newry River, which enters Carlingford Lough a mile to the south.
I am standing on the top of the Flagstaff Mountain,at sunrise. It is often said that this is Ireland's Best view.
The Shimna River as it meanders it way through Tollymore Forest Park. The canopy is giving me some nice reflected colour in the water.
Early Morning At Murlough.
Some beautiful early morning light on the mountains from out at Murlough.A 3 stop ND filter allowed me to calm the Irish sea, which I thinks adds to the peaceful nature of the scene.
Tollymore Stepping Stones
I have waded into the Shimna River, with the good old fashioned wellies on to get a different composition of the falls.
Silent Valley Overflow.
This is the first time that I had ever saw the reservoir that full that the overflow was in action. It would not be that unusual to see the water 6' below this.
Tollymore Forest Park
Tollymore forest Park is especially beautiful in the Autumn. This is the famous stepping stones, across the River Shimna, that is a "must see" for any visitors.
This spot on the Co-down coast was much favoured by smugglers in the late 18th century .Contraband was landed here and spirited across the mountains to Hilltown.
Autumn At Ben Crom
Ben Crom is a stunning location ringed by mountains and is well worth a visit. In the summer months there is a shuttle bus that takes you up to the Dam wall.
There is nothing better than a drive in the mountains on a Sunday afternoon.
I am just opposite Spelga Dam,the rain is just over, and the sun has just come out giving me some beautiful light on the mountains.
One of my favourite walks in the Mountains is walking down Binnian to the head of the Annalong Valley.
First Light At Slieve Corragh
An early start ensured I was here to capture the first light of the day.It is this light, and the mood that it creates that I try my best to capture.
