This beautiful avenue of beech trees was planted by the Stuart family in the eighteenth century. Trowagh Bay Sunset
Trowagh Bay is home to the fishing village of Derrytrasna, set in the Bann Montiaghs area of the South Lough Neagh Wetlands, the largest expanse of fresh water in the British Isles. The remaining pier is testament to the once thriving fishing community which worked the Lough for catches of eel and pollan.A few fishing boats remain but the bulk of the fishing fleet have long since disappeared with the passage of time.
